A:

I usually create a new user account and use that to create the guilds. That way if you accidentally delete the guilds, you can recover them quickly.

and ideas about a better world.

As for what we’re fighting for, we are not for some fictional model of a better world. In fact, I have nothing but contempt for those who use the Left to advance ideas and policies they call “socialism” but then prove that they’re really much more right-wing than people realized.

As for your other two objections: If the government isn’t taking care of my health insurance, I’ll take care of it myself. And, of course, no one needs permission to speak; we’re all free to express ourselves in any number of ways.Q:

What is the “new” part of the kernel?

I’ve just started looking at the Linux kernel source, and I’m getting an error saying “expected identifier or ‘(‘ before ‘new'”.
What’s new in the kernel, and what does the error message mean? What should I be looking for in the code?

A:

There is no new keyword in the kernel, the error is about the expected new keyword.
The new keyword in C is used for new in malloc() (and a few other functions) to create a dynamic object.
For dynamic allocation the new keyword and the malloc() function are used together to call malloc() and allocate memory for an object.
e.g.
int *object = new(void)int;

The reason you got this error message is because the Linux kernel source code uses both new and malloc() to allocate memory for a kernel object.
To be exact:
struct task_struct *task = new(NULL) struct task_struct;

You can find the source code here: kernel/kernel.c in the malloc() code
Malloc(2) says:

Allocation occurs in separate steps:

predict the size of the allocation needed
Figure out where to allocate it, by walking a list of currently active allocations.
Allocate the memory. This is done with kmalloc().
Allocate some memory for the page list. This is done with kvmalloc().

It’s in malloc() function and kmalloc() function,
